
1 pound ground chicken
½ medium onion diced
3 cloves of garlic chopped
2 inches of grated ginger
2 green chili’s or jalapeno
½ cup of breadcrumbs or cooked quinoa to bind (optional)
½ cup of chopped cilantro
Salt and pepper to taste
3 Tbsp of Maani’s Curried Chickpea Spice Blend
To Serve:
4 Burger buns
tomato sliced
Cilantro yogurt sauce to top
Lettuce leaves
Directions
- In a medium mixing bowl add all the ingredients for the burger patties and mix well.
- Then scoop out a round ball to shape a burger patty with your hands then press into 4 patties.
- Heat a medium size skillet with 2 tbsp of canola oil and cook until each side is golden brown about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Serve the burgers on a bun with lettuce tomato and cilantro yogurt sauce.
Cilantro Yogurt Sauce
½ small onion chopped
2 cups of chopped cilantro
2 cups nonfat yogurt
4 Tbsp fresh mint chopped
3 Tbsp of lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine everything together and mix to make a smooth yogurt sauce.
